Christmas Deadlines for Needlepoint

 

Dear Needlepointers,

 

It is that time of year again, same as every year, for Christmas Finishing Deadlines 2016

All projects Must be here at our shop on the corresponding dates, no exceptions:

 

  • Spinning Wheel (fancy finisher in Texas-Pillows, cubes, totes, ornaments, mini bags) In our shop on Wednesday, August 24, 2016

 

  • Dennis (Handbags, totes, 3-D animals, stand-ups) In our shop on Wednesday, August 31, 2016

 

  • Jupiter (Belts, Key fobs, Dog Collars- Leather Finisher) In our shop on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016

 

Please be advised:

Our finishers do not accept any request for a "Rush" during Christmas finishing season. Annie & Company is not the only needlepoint shop our finishers work with, so items will take time to be finished.

 

Projects brought in to have in time for Christmas, may not arrive back in our shop until the 1st or 2nd week before Dec. 24th, 2016. If you will not be in the city to pick up your finishing, we can ship to you via FedEx. Shipping charges will apply.

 

Any items received after the deadlines dates, will not be worked on until finishers have worked on all the Christmas items first. These items will return to our shop after the New Year 2017, any time between the end of January to the end of March/beginning of April.

 

***We still have other finishers who have yet to give us a deadline dates for Christmas, so please keep stitching and check back for deadline updates.

Edward Tung of Broderies de Luxe will be teaching our very first embroidery class!
We will provide you with the tools and supplies you need to make these beautiful earrings! All you need to bring is a notebook and pen and you'll walk out wearing them!
The class is only $100 and we do ask that you make a $40 non-refundable deposit when you sign up.

Maggie Jackson will be here for an entire weekend of events! Her designs are bold and unique and over the years has created quite the following, so we're thrilled to have her. The weekend kicks off with a fashion show of Maggie's designs on Friday. Saturday she will be teaching her class "Oh No Not Another Scarf" and Sunday she's offering "Wearable Art". You can sign up for individual events or the whole weekend, at a reduced rate! We just got 2 big boxes of yarn from Anzula and Delicious that we are so excited to share with you all!!

Summer may be winding down but this yarn will take you briskly into fall. It's a lace weight yarn made up of silk and linen with a whopping 750 yards! It's ther perfect yarn for a lacey shawl like Mares' Tails or the Hitofude Cardigan.

Embroidery Class!

If you've been on our Facebook page lately, you've seen a lot of videos about embroidery! First, let us show you the finished product that Edward has made just for Annie and Co!

It's a great representation of the skills you too can learn either in his school or during our class at Annies!
And speaking of our in-store class we have all the information you need to get involved!

You will learn how to make a pair of embroidered earrings that you can walk out of class wearing!

NEW IN STORE!

New at Annies!!
With Fall right around the corner (crazy to think, right??) we will gradually be getting more new yarns/colors for the store! The best way to keep up to date with everything coming in is to check these emails, facebook, website, and ravelry!

But enough out the technical stuff, let's get to what's new in the store!!

Atenti Bags 

These are some of our favorite project bags! The designs are so unique, there's a bag for everyone! They are large enough to carry multiple projects or use to travel for the weekend. The inside is lined with a waterproof material making them extra durable.

   We were pretty excited to hear that the folks from baa ram ewe made their beautiful Dovestone DK in an Aran version for the fall! Granny Square Baby Blanket Class
2:30-4:30pm
Granny Squares are a classic crochet pattern that can be used for a number of projects. In this class you will learn how to make a granny square that can be made into a baby blanket! We will provide you with 2 skeins of yarn (more can be purchased if you want extra color), but you will have to bring your size H crochet hook from the beginner class!

A New Opportunity!

Embroidery Class!
We know that a number of you are interested in embroidery so we have a unique opportunity for those of you wanting to learn or take your skills to a higher level.

We are teaming up with Edward Tung and his embroidery school, Ecole Broderies de Luxe, to offer a viewing and then a class on his haute couture embroidery!

Next Thursday, July 14th, Edward will be in the store from 5-8 doing a demonstration on the skills and techniques he uses to create one of a kind embroidery pieces. He will also be available to answer questions about the classes available through his school as well as a 1-day class at Annie and Company!
Edward was trained in Paris at the best embroidery schools and went on to do work for some of the top fashion houses there. Some of his work is currently on display at the Met for the Manus x Machina exhibit. Before leaving Paris he was able to reach out to design suppliers and acquire a wide range of materials that he now incorporates in his classes.
We are very excited to join efforts with Edward and bring something new to you! These embroidery skills can easily be joined with your knitting or needlepoint work in a beautiful marriage of craftiness! We hope you'll join us next Thursday to see how Edward works and learn more about this opportunity!
