New Artyarns Kits and a Crochet Class!!
  The Florentine is the latest kit from Artyarns! The kit gives you 437 yards of Merino Cloud and 437 yards of Beaded Silk & Sequins Light which is enough to make either the shawl or the tunic!
 
Either piece makes a statement so you might even want to make more than one! The colors are hand dyed and the pattern is easy to follow, making it fun to knit.  

We also wanted to remind everyone that our next crochet class is Thursday, June 18, from 6:30-8pm. It's an intermediate class so you'll be taking your crochet skills to the next level!
You'll be learning how to make a Granny Square, read a pattern, and make an edging. We encourage you to bring any pattern you might be having trouble with as well. The class is $40.00 and you will have to provide your own hook and yarn.

Delays in ordering items

 

Dear Needlepoint & Knitting Customers,



There will be a delay in ordering any Needlepoint and Knitting items from our vendors this week. They are packing up and heading to Columbus, Ohio as we speak for The TNNA Summer NeedleArts Trade Show. It begins May 28th and ends June 1st. We can take your orders but they will not be able to be placed with our vendors until they return to their offices Mid-End of next week. Please keep this in mind when placing any orders with us.

Crochet Classes

Crochet Classes!  
  
We've decided to do another beginner crochet class since there was so much interest in our first two classes!
Dana Freed will join us again to get people started on Crochet! You'll learn how to start a piece, single crochet and double crochet. I (Sarah) took the first class and had a great time! Dana was able to help me finally understand crochet and I was so thrilled to learn.
The class will be Thursday, May 14 from 6:30-8pm.
$50 signs you up for the class as well provides you with a crochet hook and 1 skein of yarn. Call or stop by the store today to reserve your spot!

Spring Shibui

We have new Spring yarns, colors and patterns from Shibui that we're so excited to share with all of you!

Say hello to Twig!
Comprised of 46% linen, 42% recycled silk, and 12% wool this yarn gives you perfect drape while being soft and cool. It works up great on it's own as a sport weight!

We brought in more colors of the Linen and Kavo as well! 
Kavo is a dream to knit with! It's  85% cotton and 15% silk with 224 yards. In the store we have the K.3 by Antonia Shankland knitted up for you to see for yourself how great this yarn is! 
The thick and thin nature of this yarn brings a uniqueness to any piece you use it for. I thoroughly enjoyed making this scarf!

Linen is the perfect yarn to get you ready for Spring!  
We brought in more colors to really get the creative vibes flowing! Is that blue stunning or what?!

Artyarns are here!

Remember that time we told you about branching out with Artyarns?? Some of the efforts of that have arrived!
First up, Merino Cloud!
 
This yarn is heaven; 80% Wool, 20% Cashmere and 100% Italian! The soft feel of this yarn is wonderfully supported by the amazing colors it comes in, which include entire Artyarns color collection. At 5 sts to 1" this is the perfect yarn for your new favorite DK sweater.

Next up, Cashmere Glitter!

Don't let the fact that Winter is over keep you from enjoying this luxurious cashmere yarn! I would try to describe how soft this 3-ply yarn is, but there are no words to do it justice. You'll just have to come in and feel for yourself! And did I mention that it's sparkly???
We're currently working up a cable cowl with 1 skein of this and we can't wait to share it with you!

Last, but certainly not least, Shawl Kits!

Spring Madelinetosh!

New Madelinetosh is here! 
 
 
Spring is springing and we're as ready as possible with a great new yarn and some wonderful colors of Madelinetosh!
Dandelion is a fingering weight yarn made up of 90% superwash merino wool and 10% fine linen which makes it perfect for spring/summer projects! With a generous 325 yards per skein,  a little can go a long way with this yarn!
Needless to say, the colors are the best!

We also received more colors of the Unicorn Tails and boy are they brilliant! We made a fun store sample, Vitsippa from PomPom Quartly Spring 2015, using Tosh Merino Light for the base and vibrant Unicorn Tails for the fair isle work. It's really getting us all in the Spring mood.

Lastly, we received some bright, cheery colors of Vintage. A plied, worsted weight yarn that's great for any project!

Trip to Artyarns

A work trip to Artyarns! 
 
Last Wednesday we were cordially invited to visit one of the most luxurious yarn locales, Artyarns! 

     Annie, Elizabeth and I (Sarah) made the journey to White Plains, NY to visit Iris and her crew for a behind the scenes look at how Artyarns is made. Seeing all that beautiful yarn in one place was so exciting! It was like being inside a glittering, yarny snow globe! Being able to see the colors in person and feel each yarn made such a positive difference in our decision making process.    


 

 

And the samples!!! There were at least 6 racks of the most stunning knit and crochet samples all made with Artyarns!

Everywhere we looked there were wonderful things to admire!
 


As a result of our little trip we've decided to branch out with Artyarns and bring in more of their product! We even have something special in the works, just for our Annie and Company customers!! We can't wait to share these delicious yarns with you as soon as they come in! In the mean time, we have a wide array of Beaded Mohair with Sequins and Silk Rhapsody Light for your next project.
