For years now Alyssa has been trying to get me to do fair isle. But I have always resisted. Most likely because I have done intarsia before and didn’t care for it too much. She kept telling me that the two techniques are very different and the issues that I had with intarsia I wouldn’t have with fair isle. I still said no.
Then the Funchal Moebius pattern was released by Kate Davies. I loved it. And seeing Alyssa’s version, I loved it even more. I still dragged my feet a little. 2 colors using 2 hands…that sounded scary. Alyssa assured me I could do it. I decided to go for it. I downloaded the pattern from Ravelry and picked out some yarn.
I choose Jade Sapphire 2 Ply Cashmere. I am using Slate and Green Tea on size US 1. I added an extra repeat since my gauge is a little smaller than the pattern calls for. I am really happy with the results so far.
Alyssa is using Swan’s Island Fingering in Salmon and Russet on size US 2. Isn’t it beautiful?

There are so many great color choices it was difficult for both of us to choose.
Are you knitting the Funchal Mobius? We would love to see your version. Send us pictures at annie@annieandco.com.
