My oldest nephew asked for a sock monkey for Christmas and of course I felt obliged to make him one. I found this cute pattern on Ravelry by Annita Wilschut. I purchased the pattern online and set to work right away.

I used 2 skeins of Zara Chiné in a black/crème color way, Malabrigo Rios in crème for the face and some scrap of some red yarn I had in my stash.

After I finished him (completely sewn and stuffed) I had the brilliant idea (if I do say so myself) of putting magnets in the paws. I also put a bendable wire in his tail, so he can hang from pretty much anywhere.

The monkey went over really well. My nephew couldn’t stop playing with him – and his dad seemed to get a kick out of him too.
